Kansas Health Science Center is a nonprofit organization committed to training well-prepared physicians and health care leaders who will positively contribute to the overall well-being of our communities. With the goal of opening the Kansas Health Science Center – Kansas College of Osteopathic Medicine (KHSC-KansasCOM) in 2022, KHSC strives to positively impact the health landscape through directly addressing the disparity in access to health care.

Kansas Health Science Center is an affiliate of TCS Education System, a nonprofit system of colleges advancing student success and community impact.

Connecting Kansans to Better Health Care

Everyone deserves access to quality health care. However, this isn’t the reality for many in our community. Many of our citizens lack basic access to health care, and there is a nationwide shortage of physicians, which is anticipated to increase over the next 10 years. This will directly impact our state and the citizens who need access to care. One study found that 92 counties in Kansas are considered partially or wholly underserved, due to a lack of physicians. Rural areas in Kansas would need 83 new primary care physicians each year to fill the void.

At Kansas Health Science Center, we’re bringing our communities together to solve this issue, harnessing the power of collaboration and local partnerships to reshape the way we approach health care in Kansas. We believe in serving local communities and using a team-based approach to medicine that focuses on the whole patient—not just symptoms.
